About Gateacre Chapel

Gateacre Chapel 2022

Gateacre unitarian chapel is a beautiful 18th century building nestled away in the quaint village of Gateacre in Liverpool.

The chapel itself is a Grade II listed building, built in 1700 and enlarged in 1719. The building consists of a main worship space with extra seating on the upstairs balcony, a vestry and a graveyard situated in a peaceful green space behind the chapel.

The congregation is small but very welcoming. We are probably the most open-minded church in Liverpool. The congregation are united by the tenets of the Unitarian movement in Britain: Freedom, Reason & Tolerance.
